Welcome to the Home of Tactical Realism
The new Home of Tactical Realism has opened its doors. While we have a fresh new look, TacticalRealism.net draws from 3 years of experience as the ETO-League. TR.net is a gaming community dedicated to those who enjoy playing with a more tactical and realistic feel than most games offer out of the box. It's a place where you can promote your servers, recruit for new members, find allied units for friendly scrims, or just hang out with likeminded people who enjoy a more realistic gaming experience.
TacticalRealism.net also allows members of the community to create leages or campaigns for the various games they play. If you enjoy playing competitively in a realistic environment, TR.net offers a stable community that can provide weeks of reliable and honorable competition. Our experienced adminstrators are there to guide the league or campaign development process, as well as assist in competition management and mediation. TR.net is getting ready to launch our 4th COD2 campaign and currently has a very successful COD4 league in progress.
The www.tacticalrealism.net community has a unique system of decision-making where Community Representatives, Adminstrators, and Staff pool their opinions, leadership, and talents to solve a variety of issues and create a community where everyone may be as involved as they choose to be. Everyone is offered a voice. Introductory Units are units new to our Tactical Realism community and are allowed 1 Community Representative during their Introductory period. Full Member Units are veterens of past ETO campaigns or units that have completed the Introductory period, and are allowed 2 Community Representatives. Any TR unit may apply for Affiliated membership, and they do not have to compete in our leagues or campaigns in order to be a full member of the community.

Operation: Bayonet Lightning |

Tactical Combat League and www.tacticalrealism.net proudly present Operation: Bayonet Lightning. OBL is a campaign style Tactical Realism style tournament. If you have never played in a Tactical Realism campaign you are truly missing out. Campaigns take Tactical competition to a whole new level. Instead of 1 team coming out victorious your unit must work side by side with multiple other TR units to achieve a common goal. Think of a TR campaign similar to the game Risk. Units are moved on a Campaign map in order to take territories, flank enemies, prevent enemy advancements, and capture Strategic points. When your unit occupies the same territory as a Unit from the other team, you play a match for possession of the territory.
Sevastopol, famous for being the site of battle and death in 1854 and 1942 made it a hat trick in the year 2010. For 250 years the port-city has been home to the Russian Black Sea Fleet, a fleet of enormous historical and political importance for Russia. The port-city fell under the jurisdiction of the Ukraine with the fall of the Soviet Union but the Black Sea Fleet was still allowed harbor under lease. That changed in July 2010 when after an escalation of economic disputes and accused interference by an increasingly assertive Russia, the Ukraine responded by ordering the eviction of the Black Sea Fleet and assumed full control of Sevastopol. The Ukraine would be an equal and sovereign nation to Russia, not a puppet.
The majority Russian population of Sevastopol demonstrates violently against the annexation. Moscow seethes at the arrogance of former satellite state ordering them out of the city Russia built - the city 102,000 Russians died defending in the Crimean war and another 90,000 against the Nazis. Now its own fleet is being evicted from the city Russians spent centuries building and dying for? Russian public opinion flares against the Ukraine.
August 17th 2010, the deadline for eviction, the Black Sea Fleet steams out of the Sevastopol harbor and over the horizon. At 5:30am Eastern European Time on August 18th Russia issues a declaration that Sevastopol is sovereign Russian territory in perfect coordination with sixty-seven cruise missiles fired from the Black Sea Fleet hitting Ukrainian military targets in the Crimean peninsula.
As the world community balks and issues their typical series of condemnations, Russian Air Force pilots wage a brilliant campaign for air superiority, rending the Ukrainian Air Force inoperable within weeks as the Russian army positions its forces along the Ukrainian boarder. With much media attention, America and the United Kingdom send their newest F-35 and F/A-22 squadrons to operate out of bases in Germany to stand against the Russian “aggression”. However, after years of war still ongoing in the Middle East the American public has not the stomach it once had for sending its young men to die on foreign soil. Ground forces are not sent and restrictive rules of engagement are set upon the Air Forces to only act in defense of Ukrainian airspace, but not to launch any offensive strikes. Russia finds this game acceptable and simply parks its airplanes at its airfields. Like the battleships of old, the fancy flying toys of the two nations are too expensive to risk to the nastiness of war and mostly sit idle in their bases.
So the flyboys with their billion dollar machines sit on the sidelines and as it has been since the dawn of man, it is up to the infantryman to do the fighting and the dying. On September 26th under a dreary sky pouring down rain, six battalions of the best-trained Spetznaz soldiers cross the Ukrainian boarder with the honor of restoring the pride and authority of a resurgent Russia and retaking their 250-year city of Sevastopol. Bitter memories of the 40-year-long Soviet occupation die hard, though, and the Ukrainian Freedom Fighters stand determined that no Russian will ever take their independence and freedoms away from them again.
Sevastopol is poised to once again be the site where the fate of nations will be decided.
D-Day for Operation Bayonet Lighting, the invasion of the Ukraine and the repatriation of Sevastopol, is set for early October 2008.
The table is set. Does your unit have what it takes to compete with and against some of the communities most skilled TR units? Are you looking for more that just a TR scrim? This is where wins and losses no longer count. This is where the only way to achieve victory is to use TEAMWORK. This is where we separate the men from the boys. This is where, when you fall, you have to pick yourself up out of the mud, blood, and tears to fight another day. This is Operation: Bayonet Lightning!!

Installed a new theme today. Working to get things up to speed and make some changes. I'll have to find a way to edit the header to make a direct link to the vBulletin forums we are using at www.tacticalrealism.net/forums/
Will have to work on the header and add a TR logo. I expect our GFX guys are hard at work brainstorming some ideas.
